About this data — what's filtered, and how to cite it

This is privacy-filtered public data, regenerated daily — the same figures shown on the public sites, not the raw filings. Both the Memphis (Shelby County) and Tennessee statewide datasets are available here.

  • Individuals who gave under $200 to a candidate aren't named (the per-candidate disclosure floor, counted cumulatively). Organizations and PACs appear at any amount.
  • Donor location is city / state / ZIP only — never a street address.
  • Superseded and unreviewed filings are excluded; refunds and self-contributions aren't counted as gifts.

Using this? The data and these tools are free to use, and we'd like a citation in return: if you publish anything built on them — a story, a chart, a query — please credit Who Funds Tennessee and link to whofundstn.org. For any specific figure, also cite the original filing as the primary source (the candidate and donor pages on the site link straight to the source PDFs).
